Jaigarh or Fort of Victory was constructed by Sawai Jai Singh
of Jaipur in 1726. This grand fort has the largest wheeled
cannon or Jaivan perched on its battlements. Jaigarh Fort
was used as the treasury of the royal family of Jaipur. The
Fort offers superb views of Jaipur town and the nearby Amber
Fort. The fortifications, museum and the ingenious water storage

The impressive battlements of the Jaigarh Fort have walkways
on the inner side. The Diwa Burj watchtower oofers an excellent
viewpoint from where tourists can look across the town and
the Amber Fort, which is within walking distance. The Jaivan,
an impressive cannon, the largest wheeled cannon in the world
is located on one of these strategic battlements, to fire
on attacking forces. Jaigarh Fort is considered to be one
of the most well fortified structures in India.
The water supply of this fort and its storage reservoirs
are a marvel of engineering. The fort could withstand long
sieges without too much difficulty thanks to the ingenious
water supply arrangements. The museum in Jaigarh Fort has
many historic artifacts, including arms and armaments. Other
